Markets & Instruments
Nine free lessons on what is actually being traded, forex, indices, futures, CFDs, stocks, and why Asian, London, and New York hours change the same level on the same chart.
The vehicle and the clock
Structure looks similar on EURUSD and US30. The contract, the spread, the cash open, and the session that actually moves the tape do not. This category is the difference between “I understand a sweep” and “I understand the market I am clicking.” Indices are the examples we use most on this site because prior-day high/low and session ranges are obvious. Forex is 24-hour and session-driven. Futures have specs that change what a 10-point stop is worth. CFDs make access easy and costs easy to ignore. Stocks add single-name news.
If you only remember one thing: build a clock first. Read Trading sessions, then Asian, London, and New York. Circle the hours you can actually sit. That circle is your market. Trying to trade all three sessions because the chart is always open is how day traders become 24-hour gamblers.
